SUMMARY:National Webinar Series | Parents’ Perspectives in a Time of Change: Insights to Strengthen Family-School Partnerships
DESCRIPTION:As K–12 education continues to evolve\, understanding parents’ perspectives is essential to supporting student learning outcomes. Join us to hear findings from Learning Heroes’ 10th annual national parent survey\, Parents 2026: Shifting Mindsets in a Time of Disruption. Together\, we’ll explore parents’ perspectives on students’ academic progress\, curriculum\, screen time\, artificial intelligence in schools\, and postsecondary pathways\, highlighting what these insights mean for educators and community partners working to support families and student success. \nWe’ll also lift up examples of local communities fueling their education priorities by surfacing a critical disconnect between parents’ perceptions of their children’s grade-level performance and the reality. Learn how highlighting these two data points and providing clear action steps is helping families and schools team up and take action to improve student outcomes. \nREGISTRATION COMING SOON\n  \nAbout the Speakers: \n \n  \nDavid Park\, President of Learning Heroes\, has led the organization’s public awareness campaigns for the past decade\, which have helped the organization reach 30 million parents and educators annually. In 2023\, he led the launch of Learning Heroes’ award winning Go Beyond Grades campaign. Previously\, as Vice President of Mission Advancement at America’s Promise\, he spearheaded the GradNation campaign to raise high school graduation rates nationwide. He has also held senior communications roles at major multinational communications firms and taught communications courses at Georgetown University. \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nTreasure Washington-Weatherspoon is the Director of Communications at Learning Heroes. Bringing more than a decade of experience serving at mission-driven organizations\, Treasure believes that strategic communications is a critical lever in amplifying best practices\, lifting up the stories of the community\, and eliminating educational and systemic inequities. \nPrior to joining Learning Heroes\, Treasure led communications initiatives for organizations focused on education\, economic mobility\, and systems change. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Texas\, where she developed a deeper understanding of the importance of strong educational foundations and meaningful partnerships between families and schools. As a first-generation college graduate and mother\, Treasure brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her commitment to educational opportunity. \nOutside of work\, Treasure enjoys gardening\, traveling\, and eating sushi with her husband and their children. \n
