National participants for a discussion of the early childhood crisis and learn what communities are doing to solve some of the obstacles providers\, teachers\, and families face in providing and accessing high-quality early childhood education. \nMore about Activate! National is a collaborative network empowering underrepresented parenting adults and early childhood (EC) practitioners to transform early childhood systems into equitable and inclusive environments. Together\, participants develop resources and presentations to equip families and advocates with the knowledge and skills to advocate for promising practices that improve educational outcomes for BIPOC children and families. \nSpeakers: \n \n  \nCatalina Martínez was born and raised in Medellín\, Colombia. She moved to the United States 7 years ago. After a year in a Montessori preschool program\, she found her true vocational calling in the city of Tempe’s preschool program\, Tempe PRE. Catalina has created a Family Advisory Support Team with families representative of each school where Tempe PRE classrooms are located. \n  \n  \n \nCindy McGaha is a professor of Child and Family Studies at Berea College. For over 30 years\, she has studied children in classroom settings to learn about how children develop learning through interactions with people and with their environment. She is an expert in the Reggio Emilia approach and how to support teacher learning in helping children develop through democratic interactions. She has also served as a Curriculum Director in lab programs for over 10 years. Currently\, Cindy serves as the Curriculum/Program Director of the Child Development Lab at Berea College. Her goal is to create a community of learning that engages children\, families\, teachers\, and college students in researching children’s ideas and theories and making children’s learning visible. \n  \n  \n \n  \nAnnie Paraison is the visionary behind Love Before ALL\, an agency that partners with businesses and communities to create the conditions for wellness and justice and cultivate healthy communities. Annie is a daughter\, a sister\, a niece\, an aunt\, a cousin\, a cheerleader for many\, a passionate child and family advocate\, and more importantly Annie is a friend who loves intentionally and deeply. Fueled by unwavering faith and boundless hope\, Annie’s mission is to inspire the world to choose love to create a culture of freedom\, justice\, and collective success. \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nInes Salgado is a devoted mother with a passion for being a voice in a world of silence\, an advocate for what is just\, and a powerful force to be reckoned with. She is also a Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and a Childcare for All campaign member and vice president of a Parent Policy Council\, where she advocates for free childcare and better wages for teachers. \n  \n  \nRegister Now
