And the winners are…
As part of the Dollar General Early Literacy Initiative, early childhood programs were invited to apply to receive parent materials and have early literacy parent workshops delivered at their program sites by NCFL’s early childhood trainers. We received more than 85 applications from 32 states! Congratulations to the selected programs:
- Community Action Southwest Pre-K Program (Washington, PA)
- Community Child Care and Learning Center (LaPorte, IN)
- Community Services Agency Head Start and Early Head Start (Reno, NV)
- Gate City Day Nursery Association (Atlanta, GA)
Here’s a little bit more about the initiative:
The Dollar General Early Literacy Initiative was established for translating the findings of the National Early Literacy Panel into practices and strategies that parents can incorporate into language and literacy activities with their children and that teachers can use in preschool classrooms with young children to support their early language and literacy development.
Thanks to all who submitted an application, and congratulations again to the winners!
