Celebrate National Family Literacy Month® with us this November!
Parents are a crucial part of children’s learning, and research has shown that a parent’s educational achievement is closely tied to their children’s educational success. That’s why family literacy has long been the backbone of NCFL’s work. Because we know that when parents achieve their education and workforce goals, their families thrive.
More than 30 years ago, we worked with Congress to create National Family Literacy Day® on November 1. What started as one day has grown into a month-long celebration that brings parents, children, schools, libraries, and family literacy programs across the country together to highlight the power of learning together as a family.
This November, we’d love for you to join us! Check out the activities below for fun ways to bring learning to life with your family, your students, or your community—and be sure to share what you’re up to using the hashtag #NationalFamilyLiteracyMonth.
