Enjoy dinner and a movie under the desert stars at #NCFL2017

The evening of October 10, Families Learning Conference attendees will enjoy food truck cuisine while participating in an exclusive viewing of the film Screenagers and taking part in a discussion—under the stars and in the desert, no less! For anyone wrestling over screen time debates, this event will provide some much needed information and reflection.

Screenagers: Growing up in the Digital Age is a one-hour documentary that looks at the impact of excessive screen time on kids and explores ways to help them find balance, including the benefits of after-school programs. Stories involve families from varying socioeconomic levels, as well as from multiple ethnicities, and highlights the fact that low-income kids disproportionately engage in excessive screen use. The film is great for families with children ages 10 and older and comes with subtitles in Spanish, Mandarin, French, Korean, and English.

The debate about the positive and negative impacts of screen time rages on. You won’t want to miss this viewing and discussion of Screenagers that serves to add to the debate.

During the show, enjoy local flavors brought to the resort by food trucks from the Tucson area and a cash bar. Does an Angus Choice beef street taco from Seis Kitchen sound mouth-watering? Or maybe you have a taste for a veggie slider from Mobile Bistro? Perhaps you’re more in favor of skipping ahead to a delicious lemon bar or cupcake from Pin-Up Pastries. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong!
