It’s official! The National Conference on Family Literacy is headed to the capital!
At the 2013 Conference, we all adopted the mantra of EepyBird: Be obsessive! Be Stubborn! Be Extreme! What will be our mantra next year? Join us to find out February 17-19, 2014, at the nation’s largest family and community literacy conference to be held in Washington, D.C. Gather with family literacy professionals, educators, researchers, advocates, coalition members, and policy makers from across the United States for the latest resources in education, networking opportunities, and plenty more. This year’s conference will be unlike any other – look forward to a new look, new trends, and an enhanced format designed to give attendees maximum exposure to learning and networking.
The conference will be held once again in partnership with Literacy Powerline and Literacy Funders Network and will take place at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel, in the heart of Penn Quarter. The hotel is located between Capitol Hill and the White House, so you’ll be just a few blocks from many sights, including the Verizon Center, the Spy Museum, Chinatown, National Portrait Gallery, and the world-famous National Mall monuments.
In August, we’ll issue a call for proposals for session speakers and open registration for all. Until then, check out a fun video of 2013 conference attendees and 2013 photo highlights on Facebook.
