FCRJ cuts ribbon on renovated women’s dorm

Last week, Franklin County Regional Jail cut the ribbon on its newly renovated women’s dormitory, which will house female participants in the jail’s Substance Abuse Program (SAP) and Supporting Others in Active Recovery (SOAR) programs.
SAP helps inmates struggling with substance addictions and substance use disorders by introducing ways for participants to change their behaviors and reduce their chances of reoffending through evidence-based treatment and recovery plans. Participants of SAP programs are housed separately from the general population in jails and prisons, encouraging responsibility and accountability through peer support and uninterrupted focus on substance abuse recovery.
