The National Center for Families Learning has announced a $1.5 million expansion of its free family literacy and job skills program in Louisville. The program allows families to learn together and emphasizes the parents’ role in their children’s education.

In addition to its two current locations, the program will now be offered at five new venues in south and west Louisville, with two more sites to be added this fall. Each location will be able to service about 50 families. The new sites are: McFerran Elementary, Americana World Community Center, the Louisville Urban League, 2NOT1 Fatherhood & Families Inc. and the Academy of Music Production Education and Development.
