Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series! Thank you for making time to visit with us about a ‘top of mind’ topic. Our readers would like to get to know you a bit better. Can you please tell us about one or two life experiences that most shaped who you are today?

Growing up, I always had a natural orientation towards learning. That orientation was encouraged by my parents–my mother, a teacher, and my father, who served in the military–who both shared that real learning emerges when you ask questions. Education and service to one’s community were the bedrock on which they raised my siblings and me. Those experiences continue to shape my leadership and development today as I work to create greater educational access and opportunity and support families as the vital infrastructure for strong communities.
