Family literacy seeks to impact the long-term trajectory of a family’s education, financial, health, and social-emotional well-being by providing the time and integrated support families need to realize their goals. Dr. Artika Tyner, the 2023 Toyota Family Teacher of the Year runner-up, is on a mission to create dedicated community spaces for fostering reading, cultural awareness, and leadership development. By initiating arts and humanities-based programs aimed at inspiring and equipping leaders around the world, her work is planting the seeds of social change.

Join NCFL for a conversation with Dr. Tyner and learn how her organization, Planting People Growing Justice, is leveraging her Toyota Family Teacher of the Year award funds to spread and scale its efforts and build a pipeline to success for all children.
