Toyota Family Literacy Program: Meta Analysis of the Studies of High Performing Family Literacy Programs
In 2003, NCFL and Toyota created the Toyota Family Literacy Program to provide services for the influx of immigrants into America, particularly Hispanic families. NCFL understood the need to provide services to families that would help the adults improve their English language skills, increase their ability to support their children’s education, and understand the American schools and expectations for parents in the workforce and greater community. TFLP sites have been developed in 90 Title I elementary schools spanning 30 cities. Seven of those cities participated in this research project to explore the success and achievements of involved families.
