National Center for Family Literacy announces board appointments

NCFL is excited to welcome two new additions to our board of directors — Jacquelyn Jackson and Jason Falls.

Jackson is the former director of the U.S. Department of Education’s Student Achievement and School Accountability Programs, which include Title I, Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program, the Even Start Family Literacy Programs, the Early Reading First program, and other programs for at-risk students and their educators. While she retired from her federal post in 2009, she is president of an education consulting firm and has served as an adjunct professor for several universities.

Jason Falls, who owns Social Media Explorer in Louisville, Ky., is a social media and public relations strategist who helps companies understand the social web and shows them how to engage consumers online. Falls is a nationally recognized speaker, and his work featured in several books. His blog, SocialMediaExplorer.com, has been rated as one of Advertising Age’s Power 150 blogs.

Welcome to the NCFL family!
